Sophia Mae Flagship - Amsterdam, NL

The Sophia Mae flagship store is a refined spatial design project located on Heiligeweg, in the historic center of Amsterdam. Set within a monumental building from 1915, the interior design engages in a subtle dialogue with the architecture, informed by the building’s Art Deco and Amsterdamse School influences.

Rather than replicating existing elements, the design translates the architectural language into a contemporary retail environment through materiality, color and proportion. Custom-designed furniture is defined by clean lines and a modern aesthetic, softened by rounded forms and tactile materials that reference the building’s heritage. This careful balance allows the historical context to remain present without dominating the space. The result is a luxury interior that feels calm, timeless and spatially cohesive, a modern retail concept that respects its monumental setting while confidently expressing a contemporary design identity.
